About Me

Welcome to my blog Be Creative. Be Organized.!

Dobrodošli na blog Be Creative. Be Organized.!

My name is Renata and I will be your hostess. I wish you a happy stay on this happy place on the Internet.

Moje ime je Renata i biću vaša domaćica. Želim vam prijatan boravak na ovom srećnom internet mestu.

I have to admit that this place is not just a happy place, it's more like a happy workshop or a hobby corner full of bows, pretty paper and hot glue.

I love organizing. I like that everything has its place, and that everything is in its place; to have a plan and to have everything going according to the plan – just ask my family. However, you should ignore their (possible) eye rolling while answering your question, and remember – they are not right when they say that I overdo things. They are wrong… I would never overdo something… a lot… I shall only say that I am lucky that I found a husband who is similar to me when it comes to planning and organizing. :) Joking aside, I understand that perfection doesn't exist, and that there needs to be a dose of flexibility. Perfection is an individual and subjective thing, anyway. When it comes to organizing, my goal is to form a system which fits those who use it. A good organizing system is doing wonders for saving up money, time and your nerves.

I also love to make and create different things – be it holiday decorations, or everyday, practical things and trinkets. I don't know if it is something I’ve inherited or I’ve learned. In any case, my dad is the one to blame. He also likes making things, except that I can sometimes overdoit (go figure).

In the '90s, when severe sanctions in Serbia were imposed, my parents were making me stuff they couldn't afford. My mom was in charge of sewing, and some of her creations included: my first apron (because I can't make my delicious cookies without proper equipment ;)), and a skirt that twirls. If you twirl long enough, it looked like a ballerina skirt. My dad was in charge of toys. Some of his creations were: a watering pot, and my favourite wooden, hand-painted, board game called "Ne ljuti se covece" ("Ludo") - one of a kind! Instead of pawns, for the game I used grains of corn, beans, peas… (and I don't remember what the fourth was). Oh, and don't worry, I had the dice.

Maybe I’ve gained love for handmade stuff during my childhood. Why do you need to buy something when you could actually make it to your own liking and needs. Of course, this is not a strict rule, and I don’t follow it always.

Možda sam tada, u detinjstvu, stekla ljubav prema ručno izrađenim predmetima. Zašto kupiti, kada možeš napraviti po svojoj želji i meri. Naravno, ovo pravilo ne primenjujem uvek.

I suppose you already figured out the topic of this blog, but I will say it anyway. I use this blog to share my projects with others, my tips, and everything else that refers to organizing, DIY projects and decor. I am not an expert in any of these fields. Everything I'm writing about is my personal experience and opinion, and it doesn't mean that it will work the same way for you, or that it is similar to your past and/or future experience. The thing is that I really want to share my love towards all of this with You. I would like to exchange ideas, tips, experience, support one another, and to enjoy while we are painting our lives in our favorite colors.

Once again - Welcome!

Još jednom - dobrodošli!
